Steve Wapner was being treated for liver disease by Dr. Charles Nutting, but when his symptoms got worse, he was referred to Dr. Eric Liu, an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of Neuroendocrine Tumors (NET) — a type of slow-growing cancer. Once the correct diagnosis was established, Steve underwent surgery by Dr. Liu to remove the tumors. According to Steve, Dr. Liu and his staff "set a new standard for me in what's possible." He was also impressed with the constant care and attention given to him by the staff at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center.
