Volunteers

Learn more about how you can contribute to the Thornton community by being a hospital volunteer at North Suburban Medical Center.

Volunteer opportunities

We all like to picture ourselves as making a contribution. Even something that may seem insignificant, can make a big impact. For a hospital patient, a smile and a few words of encouragement can make a difference. North Suburban volunteers help make that difference.

By offering their time, our volunteers provide support, encouragement and a fresh perspective to patients and the hospital. In return, volunteers become a part of our family, joining the team of doctors, nurses, staff and others who make our patients feel at home.

Volunteer opportunities are available for juniors (ages 14 to 17 years old) and adults (18 years old and older).

Volunteers benefits

Along with the good feeling of knowing you are helping others, there are rewards for our volunteers:

  • Free meal every time you volunteer (3 or more hours)
  • Free uniform
  • Special recognition events
  • Free in-service training seminars/classes
