Meet Melissa Wedeman
We want to congratulate Melissa Wedeman, one of our remarkable student volunteers, who was awarded the Outstanding Youth of Lone Tree Award! Melissa is a Highlands Ranch High School student who is approaching four years of volunteer service with Sky Ridge. Her ambition is to be an OB/GYN, and she is currently volunteering with our L&D Department. If you see Melissa volunteering, please her congratulate on this prestigious honor.

Meet Caitlyn Mendik
I am a sophomore at Douglas County High School and am pursuing the International Baccalaureate Programme. I volunteer at Skyridge Medical Center once a week and am currently in the Spine and Joint Waiting Room. It is a great way for me to become immersed in the medical field and learn about it from a hands-on approach. I have wanted to be a surgeon since I was a little girl, but working here has solidified my interests, especially in cardiac care. I was given the opportunity to observe two diagnostic cases in the catheterization laboratory: a coronary angioplasty, as well as a left and right heart catheterization. This has shone a light onto what the life of a doctor looks like and has further fueled my desire to pursue a career such as a cardiovascular surgeon. Cardiology and surgery pique my interest because it is a job in which I could constantly learn from and also improve patients' lives. Volunteering at Sky Ridge Medical Center opens the door for opportunity and I really enjoy working alongside the cheerful staff.

Volunteer Brunch
