For more than 115 years, Swedish Medical Center has been a Hampden Avenue landmark. The community of Englewood and the surrounding areas have been turning to Swedish not only for exceptional healthcare, but also for career opportunities. The team culture at Swedish is storied and unique: many of our colleagues were born at the hospital or have family history of employment. Below, we'd like to share a little bit about one of our amazing colleagues who is committed to our patients and community.

How long have you worked at Swedish?

Three years, since September 2020.

What do you love about working at Swedish?

I love all the patient and coworker interactions I get to have. We're always having amazing conversations.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

One of the biggest reasons I pursued transporter work is my love for people. I care about the people I work with and wanted to better our department and the hospital as a whole.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career?

My transport colleagues inspire me to keep pushing forward.

What I want people to know about my current role or department:

I get to work closely with patients, leaders and many different departments. All of those interactions require a lot of good communication and I'm proud that a transporter is often the first and last person our patients see when they're at our hospital.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I really enjoy staying active. Going to the gym and I play lacrosse for MSU Denver.

When you’re in the car by yourself, and no one is looking, what song do you turn up and sing?

I'm definitely a sucker for Daniel Caesar, I'm bumping "Get You" every chance I get.

What is your go-to Starbucks, Dutch Bros., or coffee cart order?

In Transport we all LOVE the Berry Bull Lemonade from the Coffee Cart, so you'll catch me order a "BBL" almost every time I'm down there. Send recommendations, we'd love to try your favorite too.
