Details about Swedish Medical Center's on-site lab

If your physician has ordered an outpatient blood draw from the Swedish Lab, you may have your blood drawn any time 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday. If your physician orders you a specific bleeding time test, please call the laboratory prior to your visit at (303) 788-6910.

Newborn genetic screenings are available to babies born at Swedish with an order from your pediatrician. Parents can bring their newborns to the lab any time 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

The Swedish Laboratory is located on the 3rd floor of the hospital, near the hospital's main elevators. From the South or East parking garages, proceed to the main hospital, go to the first floor and check in at Admissions before proceeding to the 3rd floor Lab. All patients must first check in at admissions off of the main lobby before going to the Lab for their blood draw.

Free valet parking is available directly in front of the hospital and self-parking is available in the South or East parking garages.

All patients must check in at Admissions off of the main lobby (1st floor) before having their blood drawn. Please bring your physician's order, insurance card and driver's license to Admissions.

Blood draws take approximately 15 minutes. Please follow any special preparation instructions given by your doctor prior to having your blood drawn.

The Swedish Lab accepts only a few insurances, including Medicare, some Medicaid, self-pay, worker's compensation, HCA/HealthONE employee insurance Aetna Smart Care Plan, and Doctor's Care for outpatient services.

Please note: If your insurance is not listed above, please call your insurance provider to find out where you should go for outpatient lab work. If your insurance provider directs you to Quest or LabCorp, both of these labs are located on the Swedish campus. Please contact Quest at (303) 899-6000 or LabCorp at (303) 792-2600 to find a blood draw station that is convenient for you.
