Screening saves lives

Regular mammograms starting at the age of 40 for women without familial history or risk factors are a key to maintaining breast health. Cancers that are caught earlier generally mean less treatment and a better outcome. Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, the cancer arm of HCA Healthcare, recommends an annual mammogram screening for women ages 40-74. A woman’s decision to undergo screening should be made in consultation with her physician. Patients who are considered high-risk should consult their physician on when to begin screening.

The breast imaging centers in Colorado Total Breast Health utilize all digital mammography, which produces clearer images, resulting in fewer false positives and unnecessary biopsies than film mammography, and multiple locations utilize tomosysthesis, also known as 3D mammography, a breast imaging tool that takes images at multiple angles. This technology is notably useful for women with dense breasts.

Colorado Total Breast Health’s breast imaging centers deliver the highest quality diagnostic and screening technology to detect changes in the breast.
