Types of cancer we treat

Our oncologists are with you on your cancer journey from screening and diagnosis through treatment and survivorship if you have any the following cancers:

  • Breast cancer
  • Colorectal cancer
  • Lung cancer

Oncology services we offer

Our expert oncology team walks alongside you from screening and diagnosis to treatment through survivorship.

Breast cancer

The early diagnosis of breast cancer is critically important for effective treatment. Our breast imaging center provides a comfortable and convenient location for mammograms and other diagnostic tests that screen for breast cancer and give our doctors a roadmap for treatment.

Treatment for breast cancer

With a positive diagnosis, our team of experts work together on your behalf to create an individualized treatment plan that may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and/or interventional oncology. Because we are a part of the global Sarah Cannon network, we also have access to the latest clinical trials and advanced treatments.

Colorectal cancer

The American Cancer Society now recommends average-risk adults ages 45 years and older undergo regular colonoscopy screening. To help make this important screening more accessible to you, we have an open-access colonoscopy screening program for if you meet the following criteria:

  • Age 45 to 75
  • Have no history of heart or lung disease
  • Weigh under 300 pounds

Simply call (303) 699-3061, speak directly to a nurse, complete a screening questionnaire and your appointment will be scheduled, with no physician referral required.

If you have significant history of poorly controlled diabetes, significant cardiac disease, severe breathing problems or kidney problems, you will need to see one of our physicians prior to scheduling your exam. In these cases, please contact your insurance company prior to scheduling an appointment to check coverage.

Treatment for colorectal cancer

Colorectal cancer often is slow-growing, which can make it more treatable than other more aggressive forms of cancer. Treatment for colorectal cancer often includes surgery.

Many procedures can be done using minimally invasive techniques, including robot-assisted surgery. These techniques often reduce hospital stay, speed healing and reduce scarring. Other components to a treatment plan may include cryosurgery, medications, and radiation therapy and/or radiofrequency ablation.

Lung cancer

Lung cancer often exhibits no symptoms. However, as with all cancers, finding it early stage provides the best opportunity for treatment. Therefore, if you are considered high-risk, you are encouraged to undergo regular screening exams each year. We use computerized tomography (CT) scans to identify cancer in the lungs, and these tests are noninvasive, painless, and require no fasting, no needles and no medication.

A high-risk distinction typically means you are between the ages of 55 and 77 and have smoked at least an average of one pack of cigarettes per day for 30 years (including if you still smoke and if you have quit within the past 15 years).

Treatment for lung cancer

If you have been diagnosed with lung cancer, our team works together on your behalf to create a comprehensive treatment and survivorship plan. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Our team will provide support, education and resources to you and your family throughout your journey.
