Hyperbaric medicine
Hyperbaric medicine, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), involves breathing oxygen inside of a pressurized chamber. This oxygen is then carried throughout the body to promote faster healing.
Conditions that are treated using HBOT include:
- Burns
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Gas gangrene
- Crush injuries/compartment syndrome
- Necrotizing fasciitis
- Osteomyelitis
- Radiation injuries
- Skin grafts
- Thermal burns
Limb preservation
Chronic wounds, often ones that are a symptom of diabetes, can lead to the need for amputation as a result of poor circulation, infection or neuropathy. Our integrated approach to limb preservation helps reduce the number of amputations needed as a result of diabetic complications.
Wound care and diabetes management
Diabetes is a chronic condition that can lead to serious complications if not treated properly. One of these complications is the development of wounds or diabetic foot ulcers, that can sometimes result in the need for intensive treatment, including amputation. When your care is in our hands, we do everything we can to prevent this and provide treatments that preserve as much of the affected limb as possible.
We also provide diabetes education programs which offer exceptional diabetes care to patients throughout Colorado. Using individualized treatment plans tailored to specific needs and lifestyles, we work closely with each patient first to properly diagnose his or her condition and then to carefully manage the disease through nutrition, exercise, support and education.
