Colorado woman's online plea leads to life-saving organ donation

A social media connection led two Coloradans to form a lifelong bond through organ donation.

Back in 2022, Ivy-Sabaini-Kizewski was battling an autoimmune diagnosis that caused scar tissue on her kidneys. She started dialysis only a few months after she graduated from high school, and fast forward to the truest form of altruism by complete stranger Katie Herrmann. The pair went into surgery on Dec. 9, 2024 at HCA Health One Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver. Watch the 9News story.
