For more than 115 years, HCA HealthONE Swedish has been a Hampden Avenue landmark. The community of Englewood and the surrounding areas have been turning to Swedish not only for exceptional healthcare, but also for career opportunities. The team culture at Swedish is storied and unique: many of our colleagues were born at the hospital or have family history of employment. Below, we'd like to share a little bit about one of our amazing colleagues who is committed to our patients and community.

Meriem El Arbaji is a Licensed Practical Nurse in our Medical Acute Care Unit. She was a pioneer, the first LPN hired when we launched a modern team-based care model. Merium is known for her hard work, and she is an exceptional preceptor who makes our new nurses feel welcomed and part of the team.

Speaking about her unit, Meriem said, “I enjoy the collaborative environment, the open-door policy and my supportive colleagues who make each day enjoyable.”

When she’s not making a difference at Swedish, Meriem enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her boys.

Thank you, Meriem!
