Colleague Spotlight: Marodi Wood

The DAISY Foundation is an international recognition program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day. We are proud to recognize Marodi Wood, RN, Multi Trauma Unit, with this special honor.

In nominating Marodi, the wife of one of her patients wrote about her attentiveness to their needs, “Through all of those tense hours and the following days, Marodi not only provided extraordinary care to my husband, but also checked with me to see if I was okay. As he got better, we saw the funny side of Marodi and her compassionate and feisty spirit. In our opinion, our family had Marodi's professional and caring guidance through some very difficult hours when I had even contemplated that we would be planning a funeral. As my husband got better and Marodi was no longer over his care, she always checked with me whenever she saw me to inquire how he was doing. It is with heartfelt thanks, that I nominate Marodi for the DAISY Award. She is truly an extraordinary nurse!”
