Swedish Medical Center Colleague Spotlight

For more than 100 years, Swedish Medical Center has been a Hampden Avenue landmark. The community of Englewood and the surrounding areas have been turning to Swedish not only for exceptional healthcare, but also for career opportunities. The team culture at Swedish is storied and unique: Many of our colleagues were born at the hospital or have family history of employment. Below, we’d like to share a few of the stories of our amazing colleagues who we have had the privilege to work alongside and care like family.

What do you love about working at Swedish?
My amazing coworkers and supportive management team.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I wanted to come to work and feel like that time spent helped someone.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career?
My mom

What I want people to know about my current role or department:
Nurses in the Cath Lab can have many different roles, circulator, monitor or scrub. We all work as a close team and share roles.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Ski or hike—anything outside!

If you had an unexpected day off, how would you spend it?
On the mountain!

When you are in the car by yourself, and no one is looking, what song do you turn up and sing?
Life is a Highway

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Italy, never ending good food and wine

What is your go-to Starbucks, Dutch Bros. or coffee cart order?
Vanilla latte with oat milk

Where did you grow up and what’s your favorite thing about that place?
LA, year-round sun

What is a pet peeve of yours?
Loud chewing

If money weren’t a factor, what would you be doing right now?
Volunteering
