The Sarah Cannon Cancer Resource Center at Sky Ridge Medical Center (CRC) is staffed by Sky Ridge volunteers most of whom are cancer survivors themselves. They understand how dealing with a diagnosis of cancer impacts patients, families, caregivers and physicians alike.

Providing a Caring Touch

You do not have to face cancer alone. Our specially trained volunteers will assist you by sharing general information about cancer, providing resources on care services and offering compassionate support to you, your family and your caregivers.

Our volunteers also visit patients in the hospital who have a cancer diagnosis to inform them of services available in the resource center. CRC volunteers will also visit you in the hospital when requested by your physician, nurse, navigator or you.

Cancer Resource Center Services

We offer scarves, hats and port pillows to clients who have lost their hair or are in need of head coverings.

We share information on the following topics:

  • Types of cancer
  • Community services and resources
  • Support groups
  • Nutrition
  • Exercise programs
  • ask Sarah helpline: (303) 253-3225, sarahcannon.com
  • Caregiver concerns and information as to how they can help
  • Information on clinical trials
  • Educational materials on pain management, nutrition and sleep issues

Special Programs

Wig Program

In partnership with E-Beauty Community Inc., Sky Ridge is the only hospital in the Denver-metro area providing women undergoing cancer treatment with free wigs. We have a selection of five colors of wigs, three styles and three lengths. Our volunteers will provide care and styling tips.

For more information about E-Beauty, visit ebeauty.com.

If you have a gently used wig, you can donate wigs to our resource center. Your donation will be a tremendous gift to another woman undergoing cancer treatment.

How Can We Help You?

Cancer is a challenging disease both physically and emotionally. We are here to lend a helping hand to both men and women through the services offered in our Center. But there is more to our mission. Throughout your cancer journey, our Resource Center volunteers are available to provide emotional support. Most of our volunteers are cancer survivors who have been through the difficult decision-making process regarding various treatment options. While we cannot give medical advice, we can listen, offer a shoulder and share experiences. This can be life altering for many cancer patients and their families.

Lodging

Every patient has different requirements. Our Sky Ridge Family Concierge may work to secure lodging for you at a reduced rate during your treatment. Our Resource Center Volunteer will assist you.

Schedule an Appointment

Our cancer resource center is open by appointment. Please call (720) 225-4203 and a volunteer will follow up with you. If you have a request or need that is not noted here, please ask and we will do our best to assist you in finding the appropriate resource.
