Swedish Medical Center colleague spotlight

For more than 100 years, Swedish Medical Center has been a Hampden Avenue landmark. The community of Englewood and the surrounding areas have been turning to Swedish not only for exceptional healthcare, but also for career opportunities. The team culture at Swedish is storied and unique: Many of our colleagues were born at the hospital or have family history of employment. Below, we’d like to share a few of the stories of our amazing colleagues who we have had the privilege to work alongside and care like family.

How long have you been at Swedish?

15 years!

What do you love about working at Swedish?

What I love about working at Swedish is making a difference in patients’ lives with the help of amazing healthcare professionals.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

Several of my family members have a medical background. Their careers were demanding but rewarding with a commitment to helping people who were ill or injured.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career?

During my clinical rotation, I had an amazing ICU preceptor who shared her expertise and inspired me to pursue my career path.

What I want people to know about my current role or department:

My passion is providing nutrition support, managing enteral and parenteral nutrition in diverse patient populations.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I love to travel. It’s exciting to break away from everyday life to experience someplace new and unknown.

If you had an unexpected day off, how would you spend it?

On an unexpected day off, I would take my family hiking in Evergreen, then we would have lunch or an early dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Share a fun fact about you or anything you would like your Swedish colleagues to know.

Something fun about me is I have an ancestor who signed the Declaration of Independence.
