Do your hips…Ache when you walk, run, or sit or stand too long? Feel loose or unstable? Pop or click? If so, you may have hip dysplasia.

Do you have hip dysplasia?

Hip dysplasia occurs when the top ball part of a thigh bone doesn’t fit properly into a shallow hip socket. Active teens and young adult women between the ages of 13 and 40 are most at risk for hip dysplasia, but the problem also affects males.

Hip dysplasia is more than a nuisance. The pain can stop you from being active and is the leading cause of hip arthritis in people younger than 50. Without proper treatment, you may need hip replacement surgery at a young age.

The International Center for Hip Preservation at HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge can help.
You have access to renowned board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic hip surgeons in one state-of-the-art facility. We’re among a select few centers in the nation with the expertise to perform two different minimally invasive hip preservation surgeries during one procedure.

We combine:

  • Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) to reshape the hip joint and correctly align the ball and socket
  • Hip arthroscopy to remove damaged tissue and reattach it to bone

Why choose us?

Our combined surgical approach to hip preservation is safe, fast and offers benefits like:

  • Fewer surgical procedures with reduced time under anesthesia
  • Minimal blood loss and damage to muscles and tendons
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • Less pain and scarring
  • Exceptional outcomes
  • Faster return to activities
