For over 70 years, volunteers have made a special difference in patient care. If you're 14 or older, consider volunteering to bring a smile to our patients and visitors!

Our hospital volunteers provide crucial support services that are vital to the hospital and the well-being of our patients. Every day, willing volunteers donate their time and energy to our patients' care.

The volunteer program is founded and established for charitable works. We believe the gift of human kindness has a ripple effect and has no boundaries. These simple acts can create change in a profound way. Volunteers serve in many different hospital departments.

• Assisting families in our surgery waiting areas

No One Dies Alone Program

No One Dies Alone is a program that provides volunteers a chance to offer a reassuring presence at the bedside of a dying patient who would otherwise be alone. No One Dies Alone provides a dignified death to individuals who have no family or close friends to sit with them at the end of life. Through this program, we are able to provide a compassionate presence for all our patients.

NICU Cuddle Program

We believe no baby should go unhugged. Often, babies in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) need an extra touch or cuddles. Many studies have proven the importance of touch to a baby’s health and healing. Our NICU cuddle volunteers supplement parents’ touch and promote a baby’s healing.

Our hospital has a long and esteemed history as a Denver institution. With origins in Jewish teachings, traditions and community, our founders built the hospital to "serve the need of every creed." Our volunteer program has played a significant role in this history. Our programs began with our original volunteers, The Gray Ladies who often rolled bandages for patients, we have evolved into the robust program it is today.
