Volunteer Opportunities at Rose

Looking for a new way to connect with people and your community? Please come by and meet our staff. We'll match your interests with positions in the hospital.

For 70 years, volunteers have made a special difference in patient care at Rose. If you're 14 or older, consider volunteering to bring a smile to Rose patients and visitors!

Rose Medical Center volunteers provide crucial support services that are vital to the hospital and the well-being of its patients. Every day, willing volunteers donate their time and energy to the care of our patients.

The volunteer program is founded and established in charitable works. We believe the gift of human kindness has a ripple effect and has no boundaries. This simple act can create change in profound way. Volunteers serve in many different hospital departments.

Please contact us and we will work with you to match the needs of the hospital and your skills. Opportunities may include:

  • Supporting the needs of patients, families and visitors
  • Making lap robes for cancer patients
  • Clerical support
  • Being a friend by visiting patients
  • Assisting families in surgery waiting areas
  • Being an "ambassador" - sharing with the community all the good things happening at Rose.

If you're interested in volunteering, please submit an application.

Specialty Programs

No One Dies Alone Program

No One Dies Alone is a program that provides volunteers who offer a reassuring presence at the bedside of a dying patient who would otherwise be alone. No One Dies Alone provides a dignified death to individuals who have no family or close friends to sit with them at the end of life. Through this program, we are able to provide a compassionate presence for all our patients.

NICU Cuddle Program

At Rose, we believe no baby should go unhugged. Often, babies in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) need added touch and cuddles. Many studies have proven the importance of touch to a baby’s health and healing. Our NICU cuddle volunteers supplement parents’ touch and promote baby’s healing. While we have many exciting opportunities to volunteer at Rose, we are not in need of cuddle volunteers at this time. Thank you for your interest.

Our History

Rose Medical Center has a long and esteemed history as a Denver institution. With origins in Jewish teachings, traditions and community, Rose's founders built the hospital to "serve the need of every creed." Our volunteer program has played a significant role in this history. The programs began with our original volunteers, The Gray Ladies who often rolled bandages for patients. The program has evolved to the robust program it is today. We encourage you to join us in making a difference at Rose Medical Center!
