- Leading-edge technology and advanced laparoscopic (minimally invasive) capabilities
- Specialty bariatric care programs for those who are out-of-state, diabetic, teens, pregnant or in need of beginning the program quickly
Types of bariatric surgery we perform
Our complete range of weight loss surgeries includes:
- Adjustable gastric banding/lap band
- Band-over-bypass
- Complex bariatric revisions
- Gastric plication
- Intragastric balloon (non-surgical)
- Laparoscopic loop duodenal switch

Bariatric classes and support groups
You will likely have many questions about weight loss surgery along the way, and we are here to help answer them. For each stage of the process, we offer in-person bariatric classes, as well as several online educational videos, including:
- Bariatric surgery preoperative nutrition class
- Bariatric surgery postoperative pre-select diet class
- Bariatric surgery postoperative soft foods diet class
- Bariatric surgery postoperative solid food diet class
Support groups and classes meet regularly and are supervised by our bariatric surgery team. Most of our classes can be attended by teleconference if you do not live in the Denver area.
Back to basics class
This class is designed as an overview and in-depth nutrition class. This helps reinforce your new lifestyle and establish good habits after weight loss surgery. We encourage this class at three months post-surgery and beyond as a refresher.
The four parts to this class are:
- Behavior modification
- Exercise
- Nutrition
- Surgical tool
You can learn more in this bariatric surgery back to basics video.
Bariatric menu planning class
This class is held regularly from February through November. In it, a registered dietitian will help you learn how to cook and eat to be successful.
Out to eat group
This group meets at a restaurant once per quarter to go over healthy menu choices, preventing overeating and following your diet plan even on-the-go.
Bariatric support group
Our bariatric support groups allow you to ask questions, gain ideas, discover new motivation, discuss struggles and receive overall support from others who understand where you are coming from. You are welcome to bring guests to any support group meeting.
Cost and insurance coverage for bariatric surgery
We offer financial options for both self-pay and insured patients, and our bariatric specialists can assist you in navigating either plan.
Can you afford weight loss surgery?
Weight loss surgery is an investment in your health that, over time, may "pay for itself"—both financially and in quality of life. Our expert coordinators will work to help customize a plan that fits your needs and your budget.
However, it is important to consider the financial costs of continuing to suffer from obesity and its associated complications. This can include diabetes (typically Type 2), sleep apnea, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), joint pain and fatigue. Use our tool below to help you decide whether you can afford weight loss surgery.
Insurance for weight loss surgery
If you have insurance, including Medicare, and are interested in bariatric surgery, please contact your insurance provider to determine if they will cover your desired procedure.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact a bariatric coordinator at (303) 280-0900.
Self-pay/cash-pay options for weight loss surgery
We have affordable options for our self-pay patients. If you think you may be a self-paying patient and are committed to considering weight loss surgery, contact us immediately. We can help you expedite the process and offer:
- Discounted self-pay pricing packages to help you access care
- Expert financial counselors
