Behavioral Health Services at Centennial Medical Plaza

Centennial Hospital offers several outpatient programs to meet the behavioral health needs of our community. Our specialized programs for adolescents and adults provide support and education for those with behavioral health concerns. The team at Centennial Hospital works closely with the HealthONE Behavioral Health and Wellness Center. Patients who require inpatient treatment or more intensive therapeutic options will receive care at the HealthONE Behavioral Health and Wellness Center in Aurora.

Adolescent behavioral health services

Adolescence brings many changes and challenges. Often preteens and teens benefit from learning coping skills to help them live healthy and balanced lives. HealthONE's adolescent intensive outpatient program at Centennial Hospital is available for adolescents ages 11 to 17. It provides a safe environment devoted to the unique mental health needs of adolescents, including flexible treatment options for those who need concentrated support with a psychiatrist’s evaluation.

Adolescent intensive outpatient program (IOP)

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) uses structured experiences, including cognitive, behavioral, dual diagnosis and trauma informed therapies to provide youth with important tools for emotional well-being. We help youth achieve balance and resiliency in decision making and through growth milestones. Adolescents are empowered by participation in treatment during the day and can return home each evening.

Our IOP is appropriate for youth struggling with:

  • Crisis management
  • Depression and/or anxiety
  • Management of daily living skills
  • Medication management
  • Self-injury
  • Substance abuse
  • Anger outbursts
  • Difficulty sleeping
  • Isolation from others
  • Difficulty verbalizing thoughts and ideas

Please note: this program is for individuals who are physically healthy and are of no immediate risk of harm to themselves or others.

Adolescent groups are offered Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Centennial Hospital, with a minimum required attendance of three days per week.

Adult Behavioral Health Services

HealthONE's adult intensive outpatient program at Centennial Hospital is designed for adults ages 18 years and older. The program offers structured therapy to meet an individual’s mental and emotional healthcare needs. We know that all individuals are able to learn and use coping methods to support balanced lives. Our program is designed to help them get there.

Adult intensive outpatient program (IOP)

The intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults supports and maintain mental and emotional health. It provides the tools needed to achieve mental well-being while providing the necessary flexibility to take care of personal and professional commitments.

IOP empowers adults to explore their own healing and growth, with the support of a group setting. Patients may participate in:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy focusing on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness
  • Trauma-informed therapy
  • Dual-diagnosis therapy
  • Interpersonal effectiveness training
  • Life skills
  • Please note: this program is for individuals who are physically healthy and are of no immediate risk of harm to themselves or others.

Adult groups are offered Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. as well as 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Centennial Hospital. There is a minimum required attendance of three days per week.
