Orthopedic care

Orthopedists are doctors who take care of the entire musculoskeletal system. They diagnose and treat conditions such sprains, strains, broken bones, arthritis and osteoporosis. Some of the treatments they offer include recommending lifestyle changes, applying casts and performing surgeries, such as ligament repairs or total joint replacements.

Foot and ankle care

Foot or ankle pain may be caused by an injury, poor circulation, genetic abnormalities, wear and tear or chronic diseases, such as arthritis or diabetes.

Although foot and ankle discomfort is common, it is not "normal," and you do not have to live with the pain. Our specialists are here to help with comprehensive foot and ankle care to diagnose and treat your foot pain.

Hand and upper extremity care

Your hands and upper extremities play an important role in performing activities of daily living but living with pain limits what you can do. When this happens, our orthopedists are dedicated to diagnosing the cause of your pain and providing high-quality hand and upper extremity care. We will work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment for your condition to help restore your quality of life.

Joint pain treatments

We are dedicated to finding an effective treatment for your joint pain. Like many of our patients, you may experience joint pain relief with a personalized exercise program or medication regimen. However, if nonsurgical treatments do not resolve joint pain, joint replacement surgery may be necessary. Our orthopedists will work with you to determine which joint treatment may work best for your pain and your lifestyle.

Joint replacement surgery

During a joint replacement surgery, your orthopedic surgeon replaces damaged joint components with artificial implants. The result is a healthy, new joint that moves without friction or pain.

Hip replacement

During a total hip replacement, your orthopedic doctor inserts a cup-like prosthesis to serve as the new socket. Your doctor will also replace the end of the femur with a metal ball. During a partial hip replacement, however, your doctor replaces only the femoral head and leaves the original socket in place.

The type of hip replacement that is right for you will depend on the condition of your hip joint and other factors. Our doctors will help determine which is right for you.

Knee replacement

Your surgeon replaces all three bones of the knee with prostheses during a total knee replacement. However, if some of the bones are still in good condition, your doctor can perform a partial knee replacement. A partial knee replacement involves replacing only the damaged part of the joint.

Shoulder replacement

The shoulder is another ball-and-socket joint within your body. A shoulder replacement may involve replacing just the ball (head of the humerus bone at the top of your arm) or both the ball and socket (glenoid) with prostheses. Your doctor will determine which type of procedure is right for you based on the condition of the bones and ligaments within your shoulder.

Physical therapy and rehabilitation

After orthopedic surgery, we provide inpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation services to help you get back on your feet as quickly and safely as possible. Therapy occurs during your hospitalization, and our therapy team works together to create a therapy regimen to promote a healthy recovery.

Spine care

Back pain and spine disorders can make everyday tasks challenging, and when your mobility decreases, so does your quality of life. That is why our spine specialists provide full-service spine care to get you back to what you enjoy most.

If spine surgery is necessary, we offer a preoperative assessment, patient education, postoperative rehabilitation and follow-up care.

Sports medicine

Our sports medicine program features advanced treatments, rehabilitation services and education to help you recover and return to your sport as quickly as possible after an injury.

Our hospital's sports medicine doctors focus on diagnosing and treating sports- and exercise-related injuries involving the bones, joints, tendons and muscles. They also take time to educate you about safe ways to return to your sport and prevent re-injury in the future.
