Minimally invasive surgery

Minimally invasive surgery refers to an operation that can be completed with fewer and smaller incisions than traditional surgery, which allows you to heal faster.

While considered a safer and less risky alternative to open surgery, some minimally invasive surgeries, such as abdominal procedures, do require general anesthesia. However, since we use local anesthesia and small incisions, less general anesthesia is required.

Robot-assisted surgery

Our doctors use advanced technology to improve your quality of life with minimal interruption. That is why our hospital was the first in the North Denver area to offer robotic surgery.

Robotic technology requires only a few small incisions, which leads to numerous benefits. These benefits include less scarring, a quicker recovery and a shorter hospital stay.

Types of robotic procedures we offer

We provide access to many different types of surgeries that can be performed with robotic technology, including:

  • Acid reflux surgery (gastroesophageal reflux disease surgery)
  • Adrenalectomy
  • Cholecystectomy
  • Colorectal surgery
  • Esophageal myotomy
  • Gallbladder surgery
  • Hernia surgery
  • Hip replacement
  • Hysterectomy
  • Kidney surgery
  • Knee replacement
  • Lung surgery
  • Myomectomy
  • Nephrectomy
  • Pancreatectomy
  • Prostatectomy
  • Pyeloplasty
  • Thymectomy
  • Transoral robotic surgery (TORS)

Interventional radiology

Interventional radiology refers to a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat a wide range of diseases and conditions. During an interventional radiology procedure, an interventional radiologist guides a thin wire through an artery to the part of the body requiring attention.

There is a small camera attached to the wire, which helps the interventional radiologist guide the wire carefully and obtain a clear view of arteries and structures within the body.

What to expect after surgery

Our new, spacious patient rooms are specifically designed for your recovery. We also have plenty of room for your family and friends to visit, if you choose. Our nurses will check on you every hour — at least — to ensure your needs are being met. However, we are one, quick call button away if you need us more often.

Depending on your procedure, our rehabilitation specialists may meet with you to provide physical therapy to speed up your recovery, and our occupational therapists may help you practice daily tasks.

Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS)

We also offer access to specialized programs and services, such as ERAS, to complement surgical procedures. ERAS is a treatment program using advanced techniques that increase recovery after surgery. It is our goal to get you back to your daily routine as soon as possible, and ERAS technology ensures the fastest recovery.
