NICU
The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) provides critical care to newborns who are ill or premature. Many factors may lead to a newborn being admitted to the NICU, including low birth weight or complications during delivery. The NICU staff works closely with parents to develop a treatment plan for their newborn.

Collaborative advanced neonatal care
Our caring, compassionate staff provides specialized care for premature and ill infants at our main hospital facility. Although we offer the highest level of NICU care, we also work closely with our sister hospitals throughout Denver. As part of this network of NICU hospitals, you will have access to many different levels and types of care. This enables us to ensure your baby has all the care they need.
Neonatal transport team
Because of our advanced newborn care and highly specialized staff, our Level IV NICU receives hundreds of neonatal transports each year. If a baby is born at another hospital and requires the care of our neonatal physicians and nurses, the AirLife Neonatal Transport Team rapidly transports the baby to our facility for expedited care.
NICU cameras
Having a baby in the NICU can be difficult for your entire family. Parents, siblings and relatives, who are often scattered across the world, want to feel connected to your new family member. HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's at Presbyterian St. Luke's is making connections possible with our state-of-the-art camera system that gives your family the opportunity to watch your baby in real time.
The cameras are accessed through a simple, secure username and password provided by our staff. The system is designed to help you and your family bond with your baby while they are in the NICU (even when they cannot be at their bedside) and help reduce your anxieties between visits.
Safe care for kids
We encourage you to ask questions about tests, procedures or medications given to your baby. Your child’s neonatal intensive care nurses or doctors will be able to address any concern you have about your child’s care. By being an actively involved parent and asking questions, you can help improve your baby’s safety and health.
