We provide a wide range of pediatric oncology services to treat your child’s cancer. Our multidisciplinary team of pediatric oncology specialists offers:

• Personalized patient nurse navigators to help you and your child understand the medical journey, understand medications, improve communication between you and your care teams, overcome barriers, coordinate care and connect you with community resources
• Chemotherapy and other treatment options for children and teens with cancer, such as blood disorders (pediatric hematology) and pediatric sarcoma (also known as bone cancer) or orthopedic oncology
• Clinical trials for children
• Medical and surgical treatment of cancer
• Radiation therapy and pediatric pathology

We provide expert care for children with bone cancer. While most tumors in children are benign, our board-certified pediatric complex orthopedic and oncology specialists have extensive experience so that you get the right diagnosis and treatment plan in the shortest amount of time. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists treats a wide range of sarcomas (tumors) that are present in the bones. We are a leader in providing high-quality treatment and compassionate care for children with cancer.

We offer advanced care for liver and kidney cancer in children. Our specialists understand that childhood cancers are different from cancers that develop in adults, so we offer individual and specialized treatment in a clinical setting designed for children. We offer care for a range of liver and kidney cancers, including:

• Congenital Mesoblastic Nephroma
• Hepatoblastoma
• Hepatocellular carcinoma
• Renal cell cancer
• Wilms' Tumors

Symptoms of these types of cancer can include a swelling of the abdomen, fever, nausea, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, constipation or blood in the urine. For renal cell cancers (RCC) in children, one of the first symptoms is usually blood in the urine. Other symptoms include back pain or pain in the abdomen that does not subside, a mass or lump in the back or belly, fatigue, weight loss or fever.

Our pediatric oncologists/hematologists specialize in treating childhood cancers and blood disorders in children from birth through young adulthood. Blood disorders involve problems in the body with red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, blood vessels, bone marrow and lymph nodes. We offer treatment for blood cancer, as well as disorders like anemia or Sickle Cell Disease.

We work closely with your child’s primary care doctor, collaborating during and after the course of treatment. It is important to us that children are treated as a whole, instead of solely focusing on treating their disease.

Specialized nurse training

In our pediatric outpatient center, we offer infusion chemotherapy, biotherapies, antibiotics or medicines for other conditions. We staff specially trained pediatric cancer nurses who are:

• Certified in giving chemotherapy and biotherapies
• Certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Educated on an ongoing basis in pediatric hematology and oncology
• Specially trained at starting pediatric IVs, accessing central lines and responding to any emergencies that may arise during infusion
