Fast, expert heart attack care
The American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association state that 90 minutes is the standard minimum time to treat heart attacks. We consistently beat this national average, providing interventional treatment for heart attack patients in less than 90 minutes. That means faster care and better outcomes for our patients.
Heart scans
Early detection of heart disease is the best defense in managing, improving or alleviating the disease. We use a variety of heart screening and imaging tools that allow us to diagnose cardiovascular diseases and other heart conditions in their earliest stages.
Vascular treatments and interventions
The board-certified cardiovascular surgeons at the North Suburban Center for Vascular Disease offer a wide range of surgical procedures. They also provide minimally invasive, catheter-based procedures. This includes interventional radiology to treat cardiovascular conditions quickly and effectively.
Interventional radiology for vascular disease
Interventional radiology is a minimally invasive, image-guided procedure. It is a fast and effective way to diagnose (and sometimes treat) a wide range of conditions and diseases. Our interventional radiologists use this technique by inserting a thin catheter with an attached camera into your artery (typically in the arm or groin area). Through the camera, the radiologist guides the catheter to diagnose and treat vascular conditions. When possible, we use this approach to reduce recovery time and complications by providing treatment for vascular disease without surgery.
Cardiac rehabilitation
After heart surgery or a cardiac event, such as a heart attack, some patients require rehabilitation to rebuild their heart muscle’s strength. For them, we offer inpatient cardiac rehabilitation. It helps patients learn heart-healthy exercises and habits while in the hospital. These skills can be carried into their lives going forward so they can continue to stay healthy and strong.
