Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA)
We were the first in Colorado to use a specialized drug-coated balloon PTA catheter. At the Rose Institute for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, we provide compassionate, comprehensive care. We employ eight of the region’s leading surgeons, who work hard to listen and understand your unique needs before, during and after surgery.
The Rose Institute for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery offers a wide variety of options for both men and women. Specializing in both reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, our surgeons take the time create an individual plan that aims to improve your appearance, self-image and ability to get back to your life.
Reconstructive procedures
Reconstructive procedures aim to correct defects on the face or body or help restore a part of the body that was damaged due to injury or illness.
These can include:
- Physical birth defects, such as cleft palates and lips or ear deformities
- Rebuilding a woman’s breasts after breast cancer surgery (breast reconstruction)
- Traumatic injuries, such as dog bites or burns
- Trauma caused by disease treatments
Cosmetic procedures
Cosmetic procedures alter a part of the body that you wish to change. Common cosmetic procedures that we perform include:
- Arm lift (brachioplasty)
- Breast augmentation
- Breast enlargement
- Breast reduction
- Brow-lift
- Cheek/chin implants
- Eyelid-lift (blepharoplasty)
- Face-lift (rhytidectomy)
- Liposuction (body fat removal)
- Lower body lift
- Nose surgery (rhinoplasty)
- Nasal septum surgery (septoplasty)
- Pectoral implants
- Thigh-lift
- Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
Arm-lift surgery
An arm-lift is a surgical procedure that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow. Arm-lifts are performed on both men and women whose elasticity is lost in the skin and underlying tissue of the upper arm. Arm-lifts cannot correct weakened muscle.
The procedure is generally performed on individuals whose skin has lost the ability to retract. This is typically seen in patients who are unable to correct their condition with exercise and/or have undergone a significant weight loss.
The purpose of an arm-lift is to:
- Reduce excess sagging skin that droops downward when the arm is extended away from the body
- Tighten and smooth the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm
In addition, any other pockets of fat in the upper arm area may be reduced through brachioplasty, most commonly in conjunction with liposuction techniques.
Brow-lift surgery
Brow-lift surgery is performed to help achieve a younger, more refreshed look by smoothing the forehead, reducing the frown lines and elevating the position of the eyebrow line. A brow lift can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures, such as eyelid surgery or a face-lift. The procedure is best suited for adult men and women whose facial tissue and muscles are in good condition and who have realistic goals for rejuvenation of the upper face.
Brow-lift surgery can be performed through multiple incisions hidden within the hairline or through a single incision in the natural crease of each upper eyelid. If there is significant excess skin in the forehead, a wide incision across the top of the scalp may be performed.
Brow-lifts can help:
- Improve what are commonly referred to as frown lines—vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows
- Minimize creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes
- Raise the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position
- Reduce furrows and other signs of aging in the forehead and brow areas, creating a softer, more relaxed and rejuvenated facial appearance
- Reposition a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid
Cosmetic surgery for men
More men are turning to cosmetic surgery to feel better and look younger. Body improvements, such as pectoral implants, liposuction and nose reshaping, are becoming more common for men, as well as eyelid surgery, face-lifts and the male tummy tuck.
At the Rose Institute for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, we understand that men have unique needs when it comes to cosmetic surgery. With expert plastic surgeons and high-quality services, we provide our male patients with specialized care tailored to their goals.
Surgical oncology
Many cancers require surgery as an element of treatment. Whether it’s a lumpectomy for breast cancer or minimally invasive surgery for colon cancer, our team will work closely with your entire care team to determine the appropriate cancer treatment.
Minimally invasive surgery
Our Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery offers expert surgeons who perform laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgeries. Using advanced technology, our team works with you to determine an effective approach that will deliver a successful outcome, minimal scarring and a short recovery.
Benefits of minimally invasive surgery
Minimally invasive surgery, whether robotic or laparoscopic, has many benefits compared to traditional surgery. Some of these patient benefits include:
- Smaller incisions
- Less blood loss
- Less pain
- Reduced risk of infection
- Shorter hospital stay
- Quicker recovery and return to regular activity
- Less scarring
- Better clinical outcomes
We offer different types of minimally invasive surgery depending on your specific needs.
Laparoscopic surgery
Laparoscopic surgery is an advanced surgical technique that allows surgeons to operate through multiple tiny incisions, rather than one large incision. The surgeon is able to visualize the inside of the body using a tiny camera that is placed in the body through a thin, flexible tube called a laparoscope.
Images are projected from the camera onto a screen in the operating room, allowing your surgeon to complete the procedure without the need for opening the body using a traditional large incision.
Robotic surgery
Robotic-assisted surgery allows surgeons operate with extreme precision, using robotic assistance to better visualize the patient’s anatomy helping reduce trauma to the surrounding area. Using robotic technology, surgeons often have a greater range of motion, clearer vision during surgery and better dexterity than with traditional laparoscopic tools.
Rose Medical Center offers a wide-range of robotic-assisted surgical procedures, and is one of the largest robotic gynecologic surgical programs in Colorado.
Robotic procedures at Rose include:
- Cholecystectomy
- Endometriosis surgery
- Gallbladder surgery
- Hernia surgery
- Hysterectomy (benign and cancerous)
- Kidney surgery
- Knee replacement
- Myomectomy
- Partial nephrectomy
- Prostatectomy
- Pyeloplasty
- Thymectomy
- Transoral robotic surgery (TORS)
