Bone density testing

Osteoporosis affects approximately 25 percent of women 65 years old and older. This is often because a woman's estrogen hormone helps keep her bones protected, however, estrogen levels decrease drastically as women reach menopause.

Because of this, we provide bone density testing at our Outpatient Imaging Center. This test can diagnose or determine the stage of osteoporosis, which causes bones to become weak, brittle and more easily fractured.

Gynecology

In addition to providing annual well-woman exams, our gynecologists treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Bacterial vaginosis
  • Cervical dysplasia
  • Chronic pelvic pain
  • Heavy uterine bleeding
  • Endometriosis
  • Galactorrhea
  • Pelvic inflammatory disease
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Pelvic reconstruction
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Postmenopausal bleeding
  • Toxic shock syndrome (TSS)
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Yeast infection

Abnormal uterine bleeding

Our women's health specialists offer expert care for patients with abnormal uterine bleeding. We understand this is an important and personal topic, and our experienced team helps each patient find a solution that best meets their personal needs.

In many cases, heavy or irregular abnormal uterine bleeding is a result of one of the following conditions:

  • Hormone replacement therapy
  • Gynecologic cancer
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Uterine polyps
  • Vaginal atrophy

We will perform a comprehensive physical and medical evaluation to identify the cause of your condition. Then, we may suggest medication, hormonal therapy, surgery or closely monitoring the condition before providing medical intervention.

Minimally invasive gynecologic surgery

North Suburban Medical Center was the first facility in the north Denver area to offer robot-assisted surgery. We use this advanced surgical technology to perform minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, including:

  • Early stage gynecologic cancer treatment
  • Endometriosis treatment
  • Heavy bleeding treatment
  • Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus)
  • Myomectomy (removal of uterine fibroids)
  • Sacrocolpopexy (pelvic organ prolapse correction)
  • Severe adhesive disease treatment
